Having been in quarantine now for so long, you’re probably starting to get bored. It probably feels like you’ve done everything.
Whether you’ve never played video games or you’re an avid gamer, video games can easily pass the time and the right video games can do so for a long time.
Now, in no particular order, here are the top six PS4 games that are worth your time.
1. Marvel’s Spider-Man
Marvel’s: Spider-Man is one of the best looking PS4 games right now. With exceptional graphics and one of the best Spider-Man stories to date, this game is packed with everything we love about our wall-crawling hero.
Perhaps the game’s biggest appeal is the new and improved web-swinging. That may not sound like much, but one of the best parts of the game that you can do for hours on end is swinging around the stunningly accurate model of Manhattan.
Not only does the game capture the essence of the Spider-Man character, but it makes you feel like Spider-Man while you play. And with three different DLC stories and a hard mode, you’ll be good to go for a while.
2. Red Dead Redemption 2
Red Dead Redemption 2 is the much-anticipated prequel to Red Dead Redemption. With a similar open-world style like Skyrim, you’ll be able to explore the Wild West.
Between the story and world exploration, this game also offers a multiplayer mode. If that doesn’t interest you, it has features much like Marvel’s Spider-Man, in which you can explore the map and find new locations and collectibles.
It really is like a Western Skyrim and it will entertain you for days to come!
3. Call of Duty
If you’ve been in the gaming scene at all, you should be familiar with the Call of Duty franchise. This series of first-person shooter games have been going strong since its start in 2003.
Most games have captivating story modes that will keep you busy for hours. Once you’ve completed the story, you can jump right into the franchise’s biggest factor: online multiplayer.
Here, you can rank up and unlock new weapons to fight other people online. This game mode allows for ultimate replay value as you can play forever as long as there are people on the servers.
The newest games, Call of Duty:Black Ops 4 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare ’19 are most likely to be bustling with players on the multiplayer servers. However, past games such as Infinite Warfare still have an active multiplayer scene.
4. Elder Scrolls: Skyrim
If the fact that Skyrim has been re-released a total of seven different times doesn’t tell you how great of a game this is, I don’t know what will.
Skyrim is an open-world game with everything from cat-people and mud crabs to castles and dragons. With seemingly endless things to do thanks to a plethora of side quests, Skyrim is a huge game with so many different directions you could go.
The best part is you can start the game over again and never get bored.
Being able to customize your character at the beginning of the game hold so many different options as each race have different natural abilities.
Between the character customization, and fully customizable skill tree, endless side quests, and funny glitch moments, Skyrim is one of the longest PS4 games with incredible replay value. It should keep you busy for years.
5. Minecraft
Don’t stray from this game if you’re not a kid. Yes, Minecraft is definitely targeted toward kids, but this game is for adults too.
Minecraft is a sandbox game where you’re just dropped into a random world with nothing and you must survive. You begin the game by chopping down a tree with your bare hands and you end it by killing a dragon in another dimension. Talk about range.
The only limit in this game is imagination as you can build literally anything you want to. With a survival, creative, and multiplayer mode, you’ll be glued to your controller for ages.
6. Fighting Games
You could make the argument that most games these days are fighting games, but we’re talking about actual fighting games.
Street Fighter, Tekken, Injustice, and Mortal Kombat are all incredible games that are sure to keep you busy. Each and every one of them has a story mode that you can work through. Just like the Call of Duty franchise, these games have an online multiplayer mode.
In these, you can put your skills to the test and fight other people, one on one. Some of the games have unique systems that keep the game interesting, like the gear system in Injustice 2 and Mortal Kombat 11.
7. Grand Theft Auto V
With a release date back in 2013, you may already own this one. Whether that’s the case or not, you need to be playing it.
Aside from its story mode, GTA V offers a great multiplayer mode, allowing you to interact with others in the city of Los Santos. All you need to do to have a good time is to organize a group of friends and wreak havoc across the city!
With seemingly endless things to do, GTA 5 is a great game for you.
